The Chemicals Department markets and distributes commodity petrochemicals in Europe, Asia and North America. Our product portfolio is comprised largely of liquids that are easily transported from producers to consumers via ships and barges in bulk. These products are used to manufacture plastics and synthetic fibres, like nylon and polyester, as well as a multitude of other consumer products.
In Europe, Noble also markets and distributes plastic polymers, such as polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC. This activity will increase substantially in late 2007 with the startup of the National Petrochemical Industrial Company polypropylene plant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. We have contracted to market the majority of the output of this new producer in the Asia Pacific region.
